The skills below are a list of the abilities that I have. These abilities, I believe, have helped prepare me to be the best possible educator I can be. My abilities in sports, theatre, and the musical arts will help make me a unique teacher, and create a learning environment that is unlike any the students will experience, and will therefore make them excited about learning.
SKILLS
My First Aid/CPR training has prepared me to handle most situations within my classroom, and ensure that if something is to happen within the classroom, I have the knowledge to properly assess the situation, and take care of the student.

Sports have always been a large part of my life. I played many sports throughout my life, including basketball, baseball, football, track, cross country, soccer, and golf. I played golf in college, and was a a part of the USCAA National Champion team my sophomore year.

My love for sports can translate into my educational experience in two ways. First, I can use my athletic ability for kinesthetic learning, and keeping the students' attention through fun and fast movement. I can also use my skills to coach teams or sports clubs.
The musical arts have been a strong influence on my teaching methods since entering college. I have been in many musicals at Rochester College, and have also been a part of different dance ensembles.

The musical arts can translate into my educational experience by using my talents in dance and music to create songs, chants, and other such experiences to make the learning fun for the students. I would use guitars, pianos, my voice, and dance for fun methods of teaching students.
Theatre has by far been the most influential extracurricular in terms of influencing how I approach education and teaching. In my 5 years of of college education I have been in: Jesus Christ Superstar, A Midsummer Night's Dream, A Pilgrim's Progress, Seussical, Twelfth Night, The Crucible and a show at Meadow Brook Theatre: On Air- A Musical Revue.

​These theatrical performance have prepared for me to be theatrical in the classroom. By having that ability, I can create unique learning opportunities for the students, as well as make them excited to learn through a fun classroom environment.​
